Description
What is PCB electrical testing?
PCB electrical testing is a main quality control step in the printed circuit board manufacturing process. It involves a set of testing tasks aimed at confirming the electrical quality and functional capability of the PCB before it is used in the final product.
KING FIELD 's PCB Electrical Testing Methods
Flying probe testing: This method is perfect for small batches, various and complicated circuit boards.
Online testing: This method is suitable for mass production.
Functional testing: It is the main step to check if the PCB is working properly as per the design specs.
Test fixture method: This method is mostly used for testing PCBs in mass production.
AOI (Automated Optical Inspection): This method checks for defects in electrical connections from images.
X-ray inspection: We mainly use it for inspecting circuit boards with hidden soldering defects, especially high-density packages like BGA.
KING FIELD 's PCB Electrical Testing Services
100% full inspection, not random sampling :
Before leaving the production line, each product must be tested electrically. It is not a percentage sample inspection, but a test on each individual product.
Advanced testing equipment:
Working with advanced flying probe testing instrument brings the advantage of flexible and precise testing.
Needle bed fixtures offer quick and thorough testing for large volume productions.
Thermal imaging and X-ray inspection devices are supplementary in electrical testing.
Customized testing solutions:
We will customize a test plan specifically for your PCB design and requirements.
Our engineers cooperate with you to pinpoint key test points and parameters.
Multi-stage testing:
Do electrical tests at each significant point in PCB manufacturing.
Starting from bare-board testing and ending at the final functional verification, make sure that every step complies with quality standards.
FAQ
Q1 : Do you perform 100% full inspection or random inspection?
KING FIELD : We perform 100% inspection. Each board has to pass a tester before it can be released from the production line. The tester is connected to the production line, and products that fail the test are not allowed to proceed to the packaging stage.
Q2 : Are your electrical test data reliable?
KING FIELD : We get our factory's all the testing devices calibrated by third-party metrology agency annually and we also perform monthly internal accuracy checks.
Q3 : Will you provide us with your electrical test data?
KING FIELD : Definitely! Every board that we manufacture will have a unique QR code attached.
You can check the actual test results for all the test items by scanning the code.
Q4 : What kinds of tests can you do?
KING FIELD :
Continuity testing, aging testing, flying probe testing, resistance testing, capacitance/inductance testing, and shielding continuity testing are the tests we carry out.
Q5 : May your electrical testing delay the delivery time?
KING FIELD : The fully automated tester, which we use, does multi-point testing in just a few seconds, and its speed can match that of the production line. Moreover, we are able to provide expedited testing if customers wish to follow their shipment schedule.
