What is a rigid-flex PCB?
A rigid-flex PCB is a combination of flexible circuitry and traditional rigid circuit boards , possessing both the component load-bearing capacity of the rigid area and the bending connection characteristics of the flexible area.The structure is composed of three parts: one that is rigid, one that is flexible, and a transition area.

FAQ
Q1. Does KING FIELD offer fast delivery of rigid-flex PCB manufacturing services?
KING FIELD: Yes, we offer fast-delivery rigid -flex PCB manufacturing services. The standard lead time for rigid-flex circuits is 2-4 weeks, but our fast-delivery service can complete production within one week.
Q2. How to ensure metallization quality for micropores (≤0.1mm) in flexible areas?
KING FIELD: We will use UV laser precision drilling, controlling the wavelength within 355 nm , combined with helical scanning + circumferential cutting processes; the hole diameter will be maintained at 0.05-0.15 mm, and the positional accuracy will be controlled within ±10 μm ; then, alkaline permanganate will be used for activation, and the hole wall roughness will be Ra≤2 μm.
Q3. What are the advantages of rigid-flex PCBs?
KING FIELD: Rigid-flexible circuits combine the advantages of both rigid and flexible PCBs: a large number of small electronic components can be assembled in the rigid part to realize electronic functions, while the circuit board can be bent to meet the mechanical requirements of the product.
Q4. Do you provide rigid-flex PCB assembly services?
KING FIELD: Providing services.Aside from making rigid-flex circuits and rigid boards, we also provide rigid-flex PCB assembly services. Our engineers and production staff are very knowledgeable and experienced in assembly of rigid-flex circuits.
Q5. What is the difference between a rigid board and a rigid-flex board?
KING FIELD: Rigid-flex PCBs are essentially an evolution of rigid board technology and consist of both flexible and rigid boards. Some of the main differences between the two are:
- The flexible composite panels use flexible materials while rigid panels don't.
- Rigid FR4 plates are not bendable;
- Different purposes;
- Price of a rigid-flex PCB is significantly higher than that of a rigid one.
